Polycarbonate (PC)
Polycarbonate (PC), also commonly referred to as safety glass is a modern polymer plastic material. Solid panels are manufactured by co-extrusion from polycarbonate resin. This material has excellent mechanical properties, especially very high impact resistance (toughness) and flexibility at low weight. Another characteristic is its use in a wide temperature range, from -40°C to + 135°C and a reduced flammability. Colourless sheets have very good optical properties, with transparency in the range of 92%. Polycarbonate can be treated both mechanically and thermally. It is ideal for cutting, milling, drilling, hot and cold bending, thermoforming, and bonding. The offer range includes colourless sheets, opal and smoked gray or brown sheets. Polycarbonate, thank to its properties, is used mainly in construction (glazing, fillings, skylights, canopies) and in the industry (shockproof machine casings, protection masks, car fairings) and in advertising (signs, signs, pylons). |
